A Quick Overview

One Life Wealth Planning started in 2010. We are an IFA (Independent Financial Adviser) firm but are best described as Lifetime Financial Planners. We’re based in Hatfield, predominantly looking after St Albans based clients but thanks to video meetings, we have clients all over the country.

We think there’s something special about working with a small firm - a high level of support from people you’ll come to build lasting relationships with and who genuinely care about your enjoyment of life. (Money is after all, there to be spent).

We keep things simple and focus on what is needed and what is controllable. Everything we do is designed to take you closer to achieving your own cherished life goals.

Your Financial Planner and Adviser

I’ve been an adviser now for over 25 years. I started out with Barclays Bank and then moved to Norwich Union as it was then working within Portman Building Society. I went out on my own in 2005 and never looked back.

I originally come from Cornwall where I still have family but moved to Hertfordshire after I left Uni. I'm married to Veronique and we have two wonderful daughters. Like a lot of people I know, I probably spend more time at work than I should but I'm one of the lucky ones; I love what I do.

I spend my spare time with my family of course but I also love running (especially off-road) and cycling.

In a previous life (before children), I was a black belt in Tae-Kwon Do which is where I met Veronique (another black belt).

I’m Julia Devon

Your Administrative Assistant

I've been working with Nick since 2012 and before that, he was (and still is), my own Financial Adviser. My role is to make sure clients get the most from their relationship with us so my day can be very varied. Amongst other things, I deal with product providers (a lot) to gather information so Nick can properly advise, manage new applications, administer investment and pension accounts and ensure all agreed actions are followed through in good time.

I'm married to Simon and we have a wonderful daughter and son. When I'm not taking the children to school, gymnastics, football, swimming and music lessons I enjoy keeping fit in my local Tough Mother fitness group and playing the piano. We are lucky to have a very big garden that also takes up quite a bit of my time.

I love to travel and explore the world. I'm proud to say I have been to 6 out of 7 continents - just Antarctica to tick off one day!
